Who this is for — You've found the product you want, you've seen it cheaper somewhere else, and you're deciding where to order from.
Olive Young Global is usually the priciest way to buy Korean skincare online, and shoppers notice — it comes up constantly on r/AsianBeauty. The prices aren't arbitrary, though, and the comparison gets much easier once you know what's folded into them. Short version: you're paying for speed and certainty, and whether that's worth it depends on how fast you need the parcel and how much is in it.
Why the prices look high
Most of it is shipping, moved out of the checkout and into the sticker. Olive Young Global ships free over roughly $60 by FedEx or DHL, and air express out of Korea costs real money — that cost has to live somewhere, and it lives in the unit price.
Two smaller things stack on top. An international store carries overseas payment processing, currency risk and English-speaking support, none of which the domestic business pays for. And Korean shoppers buy during Olive Young's heavy discount events while the global site mostly sits at list price, so the comparison people make is often a domestic sale price against a global everyday one.

When it isn't worth it
If you're buying one cheap thing and you're in no hurry, the shipping premium is effectively the whole cost of the order, and a slower site will win.
